The Smothered Oxtail House was born from a small seafood and soul food restaurant in Dallas, Texas—founded by New Orleans natives who brought bold Southern flavor with them. Out of everything on the menu, one dish stood out: the smothered oxtails.
Slow-cooked, seasoned to perfection, and packed with rich, soulful taste, the oxtails became a local favorite—so much so that they inspired a vision of their own.

The Smothered Oxtail House is dedicated to one thing: bringing that unforgettable New Orleans-style oxtail flavor to the Gulf Coast. We’re starting with delivery—and soon, we’ll be opening a full-service drive-thru to serve even more of the community.
